I thought I would update the original post. There has been an amendment to the original law sb1070 that was signed on April 23, 2010. It states that an officer MUST have a reason to interact with someone before they are to determine citizenship. In other words, there has to be a flagrant violation before asking about their citizenship. It may be speeding, illegal lane usage, or illegal parking, but it must be preceded by some type of infraction. Racial profiling is against the law in Arizona. We can only hope they don’t fabricate reasons to stop people. Again, we shall see.
